Logline: When aliens invade, can a woman and two small boys find their loved ones before the end of the world?
The story begins when two young boys, Jack and Miles, are on their way to school. Minutes after jumping on the bus, they witness an alien invasion destroying their small town. Jack, Miles and the rest of the bus passengers decide to hide out in the local Walmart, where numerous other town residents arrive, including Nicki, a college student who becomes the boys mentor and protector.
After we get to know a colorful cast of characters hiding out in the Walmart, the building is destroyed, killing most inside. Nicki, Jack and Miles discover that Nicki's boyfriend is still alive and they set out to find him and Jack's mother, while avoiding aliens, navigating a destroyed town and evading Jack's personal bully.
Much like films like "Super 8," "Watch Out for Falling Prices" combines the youthful energy and point of view of movies like "Stand By Me" and blends it with the sci fi action of "War of the Worlds." The movie is alternately funny, touching, and scary.
