(2020) The Patriot kills the Red Dagger, who was guilty of murder. No one else knows this and the cops try to arrest him.
At home, Max Catalano watches the Patriot's story on the news. Max graduates from high school. Authorities search for the Patriot.
(2021) Max now studies journalism at Towson University. He overhears a news report about government spending to combat supers.
(2022) Leaving class, Max is accosted by a super named Baby Blue, the Patriot saves him and other student and the Fox escorts them away from harm.
(2024) Max is graduating from Towson and looking for journalism jobs.
Max lands a job at the Baltimore Sun with editor Cameron Pritchett.
(2025) Now a reporter at the Sun, Max gets a anonymous package that contains blueprints for a high-tech suit of military armor, the Eradicator.
A month later, Max gets another package. This one has a bunch of dossiers on supers, including their weaknesses and how to kill them.
A month later, another package comes. Max asks the mailroom guy if he saw who left if, but he didn't.
There is video, though and they watch it to discover that the Black Heron used super speed to drop it off.
Max opens the package to find a list of military recruits who are assigned to Eradicator armor.
The Fox picks Max up and takes him to meet the Black Heron.
Black Heron gives him complete proof of a plot by the government to kill all supers.
Max commits to get the truth out.
(2026) Done with the story, Max presents it to Pritchett.
Pritchett says the White House called to kill the story.
Pritchett warns Max to turn in all his evidence and shut up about the story.
The Fox picks Max up and she reveals her identity to him. She'll keep helping supers until they catch her.
She warns Max that "they" will silence him.
He rejects her warning and pushes forward with confidence.
The Black Heron, in the Eradicator armor, attacks Max at home.
He explains the whole thing was a ruse to make do-gooders like Max reveal themselves.
The Black Heron reveals himself as human and assaults Max.
The Fox and the Black Heron make eye contact through the window as he kills Max.
She flees.
(2027) At the offices of the Baltimore Sun, Max's desk sits empty and untouched.
The news reports that supers have been eliminated.
The news anchors appear to be compromised and they report that the extreme religious right now runs the country.
(2043) Seeing a man and a child about to be killed in a car accident, the Patriot reveals his identity and leaps into action to save them.
