Scott gets ready for work. He kisses his wife goodbye and heads to work.
Scott is bored while he drives to work.
Scott arrives at work and enters a parking garage.
Scott parks on level 3. Scott gets out of his car and walks to the elevator. He sees a few other people moving to and from their cars. He gets on the elevator.
Scott hits the down button and reality briefly flickers. He can’t quite get his head around it. The elevator jerks to life, then heads upward. He starts pushing the buttons, but the don’t work. The elevator arrives at the fifth floor. Scott pushes the buttons again, but they don’t work. He’s frustrated and walks outside.
The top level has no railing and all the parking spots are empty. Dark clouds fill the sky and block the sun now, making it look almost like night. Scott moves a little closer to the edge. He peers over the side and sees that the garage has two sides that are bounded by streets. The third side is a parking lot. The fourth side is a small park, ringed by a hedge. He backs away from the edge and shivers. He looks around and finds the ramp. He heads down.
Only some of the lights are on. With the clouds blocking the sun outside, it’s dark in the garage, with shadows everywhere. There are few cars on this level and no other people. Scott walks toward the ramp to the lower levels. He sees something move in the shadows. He stops and looks closer. Seeing nothing, he shakes his head and keeps walking. Something else moves in the shadows. If Scott sees it, he doesn’t react. He heads down the ramp.
Scott walks down the ramp. There are fewer cars than earlier. Scott’s car isn’t where he parked before. He doesn’t notice. There are no other people. The shadows move more quickly. Scott sees them. He runs towards the ramp down to level 2. The shadows start to chase him. He runs faster. He runs to the elevator and jabs the down button. Nothing happens. The headlights of a car shine on him. He turns to look and sees the car is going more than 30 miles per hour. Straight at him. Scott dives out of the way. The car crashes into the concrete pillar next to the elevator. Scott runs down the ramp. Another car chases him, lights on.
The car keeps chasing him. Shadows are moving all throughout the parking garage. Scott runs for the down ramp. The car nearly hits him, but he dives out of the way. He sees a space where he can climb between the levels and heads for it. The car circles around and comes for him. He drops down and climbs into the hole and onto the last ramp. The car crashes into the wall behind him, knocking him down onto the ramp.
On the bottom level, Scott looks around. It’s dark except for emergency lights and a little light leaking down the ramp. He runs around the level, but there is no exit, the walls are solid. The headlights of a car head in his direction. He runs. With little light on this level, the shadows start to chase him on foot, as if they were humans running after him. He turns quickly, away from the car and the shadows. The elevator door opens with a ding. A new source of light. It scares the shadows away. But not the car. Scott runs and dives into the elevator. He hits to “Close Door” button repeatedly. The car drives straight at him. He keeps rapidly pushing the button. The doors close. The car smashes into the elevator’s exterior, shaking it. Scott holds on as the elevator car quickly rises to the top of the parking garage again. He takes a deep breath.
Scott exits the elevator. The sky is completely black now. Several cars drive up the ramp and head for him. The walking shadows move in his direction. He runs toward the side of the garage bounded by the park. He looks over the edge. The drop is far. It’s gonna hurt. The cars accelerate towards him. He takes a running leap off the side of the parking garage. The cars drive of the edge after him, falling a shorter angle than Scott took. The walking shadows jump, too. The CAMERA moves away, not showing what happens to Scott. It tracks across the garage and onto the street. As it passes over the garage, it becomes daylight again. The entrance gate to the garage opens and a car drives inside. Several others await their turn.
