Ricky and George lay in the bed at Ricky's home, post-sex. Both have big smiles on their faces. Ricky sits up. George lays on his stomach. Ricky starts the "what are we" conversation. George and Ricky want more, but aren't ready to go public.

George asks Ricky to do something about Dwayne Early. Ricky says yes.

He notes he needs to get his campaign started.

George sits at the head of the table, in the back room at Sid’s Delicious. Also at the table are Ricky, Sheriff Boone, Coach Gallant and several other men and women. George stands and raps his gavel on a table-mounted lectern. The crowd quiets down. George thanks them all for coming. He introduces Ricky as his campaign manager. While Ricky works on a campaign plan, George will start fund-raising. He has a lot of out-of-state donors lined up.

Meredith sleeps in the hospital bed. Judith sits in the chair next to her, looking on with concern. Dr. Samson opens the door and leans into the room. He asks Judith to join him in the hallway. She walks into the hallway.

Samson looks at Judith grimly. He says Samson is in no long-term danger, but the bad news is she’s going to be sick for a while and will be bedridden. She’s likely to miss the rest of the school year. She can go home tonight, but she can't be left alone. Judith goes back into Meredith’s room.

While Judith was out of the room, Meredith has woken up. She now sits upright in her bed. Judith tells her what the doctor said. She says they’ll figure out a way for Judith to keep up with her schoolwork. That way she can start the next school year and not be behind any of her friends.

Judith leaves to call Dwayne. Judith leaves and heads for the waiting room.

Meredith gets up and goes to the closet. She’s wobbles a little. She doesn’t find what she’s looking for. She looks through the drawers around the room. Still nothing. She heads for the door and attempts to catch her mom. Meredith sees Fred. He’s surrounded by Darci, Tameka and Valentina. Meredith shuts the door to avoid being seen, but keeps it cracked in order to listen.

Fred walks towards Meredith’s hospital room. He’s intercepted by Darci, Tameka and Valentina. Fred tries to walk past them, but they block his way. They tease him, but he turns and walks the other direction. They move and block his way again. They tell him to leave Meredith alone. The girls laugh at him as Meredith watches.

Charley sleeps in the bed at the stroke recovery center. Barbra checks on him and then steps into the hall. Barbra pulls out her phone and dials a number back home. Duncan Cressey answers.

Barbra tells the lawyer she needs to get power of attorney for Charley. And they need to make some changes to Charley's will. Barbra's going to fly in to sign the paperwork.

Dwayne watches the news on TV. A weatherman says Hurricane Carl should make landfall in the next 48 hours as a Category 5 storm, with winds in excess of 155 miles per hour...

Paul calls. He's found the BSCS lodge. He texts the address to Dwayne, who is gonna visit the lodge right away.

Dwayne pulls into the lodge and parks. He looks out at the lodge and gets out of the car. George and Ricky exit the lodge. Dwayne approaches them. It rains lightly. Everyone wears raincoats.

Dwayne calls out to George and Ricky. They're not happy to see him. He confronts them about the BSCS, but they act ignorant. They claim he's delusional. Ricky and George walk away laughing. Dwayne is confused.

Judith pulls into the driveway at home and parks. She gets out of the car and pulls her jacket’s hood up to block the rain. Dwayne is back from the lodge. A glint catches her eye from under the house. She locks the car and heads towards the glint. She kneels down to look under the house. She reaches out and picks up the gun. She's angry at Dwayne. She goes inside, holding on to the gun.

Judith walks inside, holding the gun away from her body like it’s a dead animal. She calls for Dwayne. Dwayne quickly comes out of the bedroom and approaches Judith. He sees the gun.

She tells him to get rid of it. He takes the gun and walks outside.

Dwayne gets in the front seat of his car. He puts the gun in the glovebox. He tries to shut it, but the gun’s too big. He gets out of the car and wanders toward the barn. He goes inside.

Dwayne walks into the barn. He looks around. He finds a spot on a high shelf near the back corner opposite the entrance. He places the gun on a shelf between to bonsai trees. He grabs a blanket and covers up the gun. He goes back outside and looks around carefully. He doesn’t see anyone else, so he goes back in the house.

Fred steps into Meredith’s hospital room. She’s alone. They sit for a moment, watching a cartoon on the hospital room TV. She says she saw his encounter with Darci, Tameka and Valentina. He said it didn’t mean anything. I’m over it. He’s lying.

She asks why he's here. Fred acts shy and doesn’t answer. She presses and he says he came to check on her. He wanted to make sure she was okay. She says he was bullied. He says boys can’t be bullied by girls. She says he shouldn't say things like that. Fred is exasperated. She says he's exaggerating. They’re both silent for a while. She's not trying to be mean. Fred looks down, he’s starting to get upset. He says "Fuck it! I’m out of here. You try to be nice..." He trails off as he leaves the room and walks down the hall. She apologizes. Meredith is too late, Fred is long gone. She turns on her side, getting ready to go to sleep.

Fred walks away from the hospital. He vows that Meredith will feel the pain he does. He continues walking, pulling his jacket close to block out the rain.

Allie pulls in front of the Early home and parks. She gets out and knocks on the door. Judith opens the door with a smile.

Allie finishes giving Judith her pitch about fixing Kyra's statue. She asks for a photo and Judith gets one for her. She says she needs the broken pieces. Judith sends her to the back yard. They hug.

Allie walks inside the art gallery and greets the store’s proprietor, Francis. Allie shows the picture to Francis and she says it's good work. Allie says the artist is her new girlfriend. She asks Francis if she can repair the statue. Francis says she'll take a look.

The members of Audrey’s Business Roundtable all attend Maggie’s Business Roundtable, which meets in the back room of Sid’s Delicious. Maggie says they're going to raise funds for hurricane relief.

Maggie emerges from the back room with the other Business Roundtable. Most of them leave. A few head to the counter to order food. Maggie meets her father, Sheriff Bryant. Maggie confirms hers plans to take over the roundtable and steer their endorsement to George in the mayoral election.

Barkley and Jackson work in the prison’s garden. It’s raining and they wear ponchos. Jackson walks behind the greenhouse to dump a box full of pulled weeds. He stops, staring at something on the ground behind the greenhouse.

Jackson points to Buss's body. Barkley worries they'll also get killed. Jackson asks about a hidden phone Muschetti used to use. Barkley goes to get it. Barkley heads inside the main prison building.

Barkley walks into the shower area. He goes into the last stall and removes a tile from the wall. He pulls out an iPhone and pockets it. He puts the tile back and leaves.

Outside, Jackson sees Barkley approaching. Barkley shows Jackson the iPhone, then puts it away. They walk behind the greenhouse. Barkley pulls the iPhone and takes a picture of Buss’s body. He puts the phone away.

They walk out from behind the greenhouse and find Neyland waiting for them. He questions them and threatens them. He watches Barkley and Jackson go inside. He gives them a suspicious look.

Billy stands at the checkout at Rincon’s Hardware Store, buying a half dozen rolls of duct tape. Vaught and Neyland approach him from behind. The store CLERK notices them and disappears into the back. Billy's trying to buy duct tape, but they warn him about asking questions about the BSCS.

Tukabatchee plays Tallahassee Rickards High School. The gym is packed and Rickards leads 58-52. Karl takes the ball down court. He feeds the ball to Theo in the paint. Theo is double-covered. Theo passes the ball back to Karl, who spots up and drains a three. Rickards leads 58-55.

A Rickards player drives to the hoop and puts up a layup. Mack steps over and blocks the shot. The ball falls into Aaron’s hands and he leads the fast break. He passes to Mack, who is open. Mack slams the ball and the crowd goes wild. Rickards leads 58-57.

A Rickards player drives towards the goal. Karl plays defense, covering the Rickards player. The Rickards player shoots, but the defense is tight. He misses.

Theo grabs the rebound. He hits Karl with the outlet pass. There are 11 seconds left in the game. Karl drives to the hoop. He splits two defenders and sinks a finger roll. Tukabatchee wins 59-58.

His teammates mob him. The crowd mobs all of them. It’s a celebration.

Dwayne stands in Kyra’s room. He asks what she knows about George. She says he's gay, but it'd be wrong to use it against him.

Dax holds up his camera, and takes pictures of Ricky’s house in the rain. He can’t see well, so Dax moves closer. Vaught and Neyland surround Dax. Vaught smashes his baton into Dax’s face. The rain washes the flowing blood down his face. His camera lays smashed on the concrete. Dax falls unconscious and Vaught and Neyland catch him. They escort him around the corner and toss him in the trunk. Vaught picks his phone up and dials Ricky’s number and tells him they took care of Dax.

Vaught drives the car near a pier that goes into the Gulf of Mexico. He parks and he and Neyland get out of the car. They get Dax’s body out of the trunk. They carry him down to the end of the pier. They throw Dax’s body in the ocean. The men chuckle and walk back to the car.

Karl and several other players walk through the school, basking in the glow of victory. Russell sees them and walks up to the group. He wants to talk to Karl alone. Karl lets his teammates know it’s okay. The other players eye Russell warily. Russell apologizes for breaking Karl's hand. He asks Karl to talk to coach about kicking him off the team. Karl says no and ridicules Russell. Karl speaks loud enough for his teammates to hear him. They laugh and giggle along with Karl’s response. Karl and his friends burst out in laughter. Karl starts to walk away and catch up with his friends. He turns back and says one last thing to Russell. Karl says "We’ve been fine without you. We’ve been winning games. We don’t need you. Go home." Karl jogs to catch the other players. They congratulate him and celebrate as they walk away.

Judith sits at a table at the Tukabatchee Public Library, typing notes into her computer. Billy spies on her from the stacks. Judith looks up and doesn’t see him as he ducks behind the shelves. She goes back to taking notes. Billy looks from behind the shelves again. Judith looks up and catches him. He still quickly ducks behind the shelf again.

Judith frowns. She goes back to taking notes. After a short while, she looks up again, but Billy is gone.

Judith exits the library and heads towards main street. Billy follows. She reaches the Main Street sidewalk and looks back. She spots him following. Judith rounds the corner and bumps into Audrey. She says that Billy is following her. They make eye contact. He stops walking. He turns to leave. Audrey follows him. Billy stops. Audrey approaches him. Judith follows. Audrey asks him what he's doing. Billy looks down, ashamed. Audrey says he's stalking a grown woman. She threatens him. Billy is nearly crying. Judith gets in Billy’s face. He promises to stop. Billy runs away. The women laugh at him. The two women walk away.

Barbra sits across a conference table from two women lawyers, Duncan Cressey and Chelsea Warner. Barbara reads through a stack of legal papers. She signs them. Cressey says they can't file the paperwork until Charley signs.

Francis works on restoring Kyra’s Fat Mama statue, working from a blown-up picture on her computer. It looks close, only a few loose parts remain. Francis steps back and compares the statue to the photo. She grins, happy with her own work.

Russell walks down the school’s hallway. It’s empty because everyone is in class. He punches the wall, busting his knuckles. They bleed onto the floor. He wraps the wounded hand in his shirt, staining it. He vows to get Karl. He walks on.

In the Visitor’s Room at the state prison, Barkley sits across the table from his sister, Anna. He drops the pics of the body to Anna's iPhone. He tells her to go to the local newspaper because the local cops are corrupt.

The full membership of the BSCS sits around the meeting table, presided over by a recovering Warden Bryant. He's glad to be back, but sorry they lost Koy. He looks at each of the other men in turn. Some of them look down in shame. He says they have to stop Koy, because he knows too much. He tells Sheriff Boone to find out what he can and report back. Ricky has a plan to deal wit Dwayne, but he's mum on details. They adjourn.

The rest of the BSCS waits for Ricky and George to leave. The lovers don’t notice they’re the only members to leave. Bryant brings up Billy, saying he's asking too many questions. He tells Vaught and Neyland to scare Billy, but not hurt him. If he doesn't listen, they'll graduate to violence.

Dwayne approaches the Hasley home. George sees him from inside and he hurries outside to meet Dwayne. The two men stand in the rain, each pretending it doesn’t bother them. Dwayne coughs. George smiles. George asks if Dwayne is okay, but he doesn't really care and admits the same. Dwayne says Georges family is out of control. George responds that Dwayne's family are instigators. George says he's gonna be mayor soon and the Earlys better watch out.

Allie leads a blindfolded Kyra through the rain to the front door of the Gallery. Allie opens the door and leads Kyra inside. Allie takes the blindfold off of Kyra but tells her to keep her eyes closed. Allie leads Kyra into the gallery and in front of the restored Fat Mama statue. Allie tells Kyra to open her eyes. She does and sees the restored statue on display in the gallery. She can’t believe what she’s seeing. Then it dawns on her and she grins. She stops and kisses Allie. Allie embraces her. Francis stands in the shadows grinning. She walks away, giving Allie and Kyra privacy. Kyra tells Allie she loves her. Allie replies that she's in love, too. Kyra invites Allie to ride out the storm at her house. Allie asks if Kyra's family will be okay with that. Kyra says her family will love Allie.

Hurricane Carl makes landfall. The water has risen and covers the whole beach, rising above the retaining wall. Something in the water roars as it wades ashore. The monster glows blue like the other monsters. But it’s much larger than the others, almost the size of a rhino. It has a full working head and two smaller heads that appear to be dead. At it’s tail end, there are three additional dead heads. It roars loudly into the night. A sound, no human has heard before. The beast crosses the road into a gas station parking lot.

Two teenagers are filling a car up with gas. One works the pump, the other holds two fountain sodas. He sips from one. The monster lunges towards them and roars. Both teens drop what they’re holding. Both sodas crash to the ground and splash the car. The gas pump spews all over the car and ground before it automatically shuts off. The teens run.

The clerk inside calls the police while hiding out of sight of the monster. Other customers take pictures and gawk from inside the gas station. The monster roars again. People inside flinch. One teen falls over trying to get away from the window. The monster walks on down the road. Everyone watches it go, moving parallel to the coastline.

Maggie leads another meeting of the Business Roundtable. Some of the women in the audience are annoyed. The audience is smaller than usual. Judith and Audrey are absent. Maggie thanks everyone for coming on such short notice. She's assigned each member a list of local businesses to solicit for hurricane relief funds. She conducts an election, where she runs unopposed and becomes the new leader of the roundtable. She says it would be a good idea for establishing the legitimacy of this organization if they were the first to endorse George Hasley for mayor. More mumbles from the crowd. Some positive, some negative. She says she'll be in touch with fund-raising call lists this week. She sets the gavel down and hurries out of the meeting, paying no mind to the many women who have questions or comments.

Barkley makes his way back to his cell from the mess hall. He doesn’t see Neyland sneaking up behind him. Neyland waits until Barkley is in a blind spot in the hallway, then he attacks.

He brings his baton down on the back of Barkley’s head. It splits Barkley’s head open and he starts bleeding everywhere. He falls to the ground, unconscious. Vaught arrives. Vaught helps Neyland pick Barkley up. They carry him down the hallway.

Judith pulls into the drive at home and parks the car. She talks on the phone. She complains that Maggie held a meeting without them during a storm. She doesn't understand how Maggie can hold an election without them. Audrey notes that Maggie bullied the roundtable into endorsing Ricky Howard for mayor. Audrey tries to convince Judith to run for mayor.

Judith hears a loud bang coming from the back yard. She turns her phone’s flashlight on and heads that direction. She thinks it might be Billy, but it's the monster. The monster runs at Judith from the back yard. It tries to ram her but she dives to the side at the last second. She doesn’t manage to fully get out of the way and the monster stomps on her ankle with one of its hooves. Judith screams. The monster runs down the driveway and into the night.

Allie and Kyra pull up. Kyra’s the first to jump out of the car, but Allie isn’t far behind. Kyra rushes to help her mom. Allie helps and they get Judith to a standing position. They help Judith limp towards the house. Dwayne rushes outside. Judith says it was a blue monster. Dwayne takes over for Kyra and Allie and helps Judith towards the house. They go inside. The girls follow.

Vaught drives the car near a pier at Tukabatchee State Park that goes into the Gulf of Mexico. He parks and he and Neyland get out of the car. They get Barkley’s body out of the trunk.

They carry him down to the end of the pier. They throw Barkley’s body in the ocean.

The men chuckle and walk back to the car. They go in the trunk again and pull out Buss’s body. They carry it down to the end of the pier and toss it in the ocean. They get in the car and drive away.

A tornado comes down the Early driveway, tearing down the fence between the Early and Hasley homes. It also tears up the driveways on each side. It tears down a shed in the Hasley’s front yard. It rips off the corner of the Hasley’s home before moving towards the Early home.

The Early family and Allie are crowded into the house’s small basement. Dwayne tells everybody to get low. They all sit down close together near a wall support. Dwayne joins them and bulls a king-sized mattress over there heads. Meredith tells everyone she loves them and she pulls them in for a hug. They all respond that they love her, too. Tears flow on multiple faces. After the hug breaks, Allie pulls Kyra close and silently mouths the words “I love you.” They lean in and kiss.

Dwayne asks when the Kyra-Allie relationship developed. Everyone laughs. Outside, something heavy bumps into the house. They all scream. They all huddle in closer.

The tornado is gone. The hurricane is moving out. The rain slows to a drizzle.

The Hasley family are crowded into the house’s back bathroom. Fred asks why they have to crowd in together. George says because of the tornado. They're safe inside. They shouldn't have to wait long.

Dwayne escorts a limping Judith into the hospital. Dr. Tagachi rushes out to meet them. He asks if Judith is okay. She says she will be and tells him they've got blue monsters. Dwayne and Tagachi help her into an examining room.

George, Billy, Russell and Fred walk around the junkyard in a daze. It’s totally wrecked. Russell asks why their junkyard was trashed and nothing happened to the Early house. Billy said it's because of Obama's weather machine. George says that listening to talk radio makes one stupid. George and Billy start cleaning up. Russell and Fred reluctantly join them.

The storm has gone back offshore and the sun is out. Debris everywhere and the beach looks like a warzone. Ricky and George walk along the beach, not holding hands, but bumping into each other “accidentally” every few seconds. Ricky suggests a beach clean-up campaign event. George loves it. George sees the bodies of Buss and Barkley and points them out. George calls Bryant and tells him about the bodies. He says he'll send some guys. George hangs up. He and Ricky exchange concerned looks.

Later, on another part of the beach, Theo and Valentina walk along, holding hands. This part of the beach is also very messed up. Theo thanks Valentina for coming to their games. She jokes she goes to see Karl. Theo notes he averages a double-double in his first year starting. She says she's just teasing. She leans in and gives him a kiss on the cheek.

She sees Dax’s body, which has washed up on shore. She points it out. Theo moves a bit closer and squints to see it better. He's going to call 9-1he convinces him to call a reporter first.

He agrees, then calls the Tukabatchee Times.

Boone hangs up the office phone on his desk. He picks up his cell phone and calls Bryant. He tells Bryant all the bodies they killed washed up on the shore.

Unbeknownst to Boone, a rookie sheriff’s deputy, Marks, stands outside Boone’s office. The door is cracked, and Marks can hear him.

Marks quietly rushes outside.

Marks rushes outside. He sees that it’s raining and stays under the building’s entrance covering. He pulls out a business card. It says “Carmine Bundy, Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Marks dials the number. It rings several times. Marks tells Bundy they need to talk.
