To the graduating class of yadda yadda yadda...

This is Art School Graduation Manifesto Vol. 1...

Recontextualize everything.
Yes, everything.
Tell the truth.
Only punch up, never punch down or parallel.
Share the burdens of creation, distribution and consumption.
Tear down idols, false or otherwise.
End idolization of the individual.
Change.
Be changed.
Cause change.
Be aware of how you affect others, whether you mean it or not.
Lighten up as much as you can.
Then fight.
Destroy your delusions.
Share.
Never stop growing. Never stop learning.
Make old art better.
The only justice is justice for all.
Be intentional.
Anything and everything can be an art AND art.
All art is political.
Everything is political.
Tradition equals stagnation.
The old rules no longer apply.
Remix everything.
Broaden your influences.
Stop hating art that sucks. Learn from it instead.
Define yourself by who you are and what you are for
and not by what you are against or what you are not.
Be better.
Don't expect it, suggest it.
Learn wherever knowledge is to be learned.
Listen.
Big is beautiful, but not exclusively so.
Fuck hypotheticals.
Celebrate power, happiness, love, friendship, family and other such things only inasmuch as they improve lives.
Do what you are told you can't do, unless that involves harming one undeserving of said harm.
You are wrong.
Become unwrong.
Create the things you want to see exist in the world.
Everything is political.
Think again.
Think again.
Think again.
Leave art better than it was before you.
Leave the world better than it was before you.
Think again.
Think again.
Think again.
